Baptism at St Nicolas

We welcome enquiries about Baptism.  The first step is to contact the Rector's secretary.  She will then arrange an appointment for you to meet one of the clergy and they will talk to you about the options available.

 The Baptism of children  

The Baptism of a child involves the parents making a serious commitment and requires careful thought.  Parents need to be able to promise to give their child every opportunity to grow up within the family of the Church.  Where this is not possible then we offer a service of thanksgiving for the birth of a child.

The Baptism of Adults and children over 7 years  

Those seeking Baptism for themselves will need to undertake a course of instruction appropriate to their age.  This will be discussed with the candidate. The candidate will also need to worship regularly with us during the period of instruction and want to make a commitment to be invovled with the church on a continuing basis.
