IAIN GOES UP THE HILL - BUT NOT OVER THE TOP !!
Iain Bendrey never does things by half. In the space of two years he will have got married, got a Head Teacher's Post and moved on to another biggerone, and been ordained deacon. And now it has just been announced thathe will be serving his title (his curacy) at Wickham Bishops with Little Braxted. Father Stuart Batten, the Vicar, is also Assistant Diocesan Director of Ordinands and it will be interesting for him to have a curate when he nurtures so many through the selection process.
Iain, who lists his interests as "mainly Beth" has settled down to living in Forest Road, and it is typical of the couple's hospitality that they have invited parishioners twice already to their house for an open day. It has been a very gruelling year for him so far with a great deal of work to do on his ordination course and many demands being made at school. In addition, his father has not been very well of late and has been in hospital. Iain is the sort of person who always somehow finds the time for all his many commitments.
Iain is making a very valuable contribution to parish life here in Witham. He has set up this web-site for us, has preached and played his part in the ordering of the services. He is an unflagging support for Beth too. We shall miss him very much when he leaves us in June, but it is good to know he will be in the same Deanery. I'm sure we wish him well.
Beth, of course, will be staying with us.
